Great Pond of Marsala Kayaking Tour

At 8:30 am, we'll meet at Contrada Spagnola. From here, we'll start an 11 km circle tour that'll take us to discover all the charms of the Great Pond of Marsala, also known as the Stagnone Reserve.

Before getting into the kayaks, we'll provide tips on how to master the paddling technique and review basic safety rules. Then, we'll be ready for our water adventure.

During the kayak tour in the Great Pond of Marsala, we'll discover the main islands of this lagoon, such as the Big Island, La Schola, and Santa Maria. We'll see its salt pans, learn about its vegetation and wildlife, and discuss its history as we pass by significant ruins.

We'll have several stops to relax in these natural surroundings and refuel with snacks like cunzato bread, fruit, and sweets.

Next, we'll visit the island of San Pantaleon, home to major archaeological sites of Phoenician origin. We'll discuss the ancient city of Motia and view the remains of walls, causeways, and other constructions of historical value.

Lastly, we'll finish the kayak tour five hours later, arriving back at the starting point.
