Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity
The Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity begins at the scheduled time from the Chemin de Morgiou car park. The hike takes us to Sormiou creek, a prominent feature of the Calanques National Park.
This 3-mile (5-kilometre) hike goes through a scrub forest en route to the Sormiou Ridge, offering views of the nearby massif, the Mediterranean Sea, and the city of Marseille.
We will descend to the cove of Sormiou to visit its fishing village and beach. Participants may swim in the turquoise waters of the cove if desired.
After swimming, we will return via a different route that highlights the nature, history and culture of the Calanques National Park, an essential protected area in southeastern France.
The activity concludes approximately three and a half hours after departure, returning to the starting point.
