Our first stop will showcase the remarkable Castello Tramontano, a crucial symbol of late medieval Matera positioned on the Collina di Lapillo. Here, we will delve into the strategic significance of this 16th-century fortress while appreciating the exterior architectural details.

Next, we will visit Piazzetta Pascoli, where the viewpoint promises breathtaking vistas of Matera. The surrounding landscape, featuring the Sasso Caveoso and Gravina, showcases the mesmerizing architecture chiselled from the rock.

Our journey will lead us to Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the vibrant heart of modern Matera. At this location, you will encounter the cathedral and gain insights into the city's urban development. From this point, we will make our way down to Barisano, home to the renowned Sassi of Matera. While traversing in the vehicle, we will catch glimpses of the rock-carved buildings, including the Chiesa rupestre di Sant'Agostino where we will pause at its viewpoint. Additionally, a visit to the Chiesa rupestre di Sant'Antonio Abate, an emblematic site, will enrich our experience.

We will also explore the Casa Grotta, a traditional cave dwelling that exemplifies life in the Sassi until the 1950s.
