Mr. Lionso Ranch Visit + Mezcal Tasting

On this visit to Mr. Lionso's Ranch, you'll learn about the artisanal mezcal process and enjoy a tasting with unique flavours.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, pickup will be from your hotel in Mazatlán for a 40-minute drive to Mr. Lionso Ranch, situated amid agave fields in the heart of the mezcal tradition in Southern Sinaloa.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the ranch factory to explore the mezcal production process. We will walk through the ovens, stills, and barrels as we discuss the cultural significance of this drink since the 19th century.

During the tour, we will learn about the historical importance of a vinata and differentiate between the different types of mezcal. The focus will also be on agave, the primary plant used in this distillate.

We will partake in a tasting of the mezcals produced at the ranch, including flavours such as white, rested, almond, coffee, hibiscus, tamarind, mango, and chocolate.

To conclude the experience, we'll enjoy molcajete flamed with mezcal, machaca burritos, guacamole, and a refreshing bougainvillea flower water. Following lunch, we'll return to Mazatlán and complete the tour at your hotel after approximately 2.5 hours.
