Welcome to the East End of Melbourne! At the specified time, we'll meet at Federation Square and start our route around one of the oldest neighborhoods in Melbourne. Ready?
Firstly, we'll learn about some of the most iconic parts of the city, such as Federation Square, the Yarra River, and the impressive St. Paul's Cathedral, the only neogothic building in the heart of Melbourne.
Then, we'll head to the East End, crossing AC/DC Lane. Did you know that Melbourne catapulted them to fame? We'll learn all about this story! From here, we'll head into the bustling Degraves Street, popular for its lively bars.
Our next stop will be the town hall, noted for its stylish architecture. We'll continue to Block Arcade and Royal Arcade shopping centers, excellent spots to glimpse Victorian times.
Afterwards, we'll walk down Bourke Street to arrive at Chinatown, significant in establishing Chinese culture in Australia. Nearby, you'll find the State Library Victoria, the oldest public library in the country and one of the first free libraries in the world!
On the home stretch of our tour, we'll arrive at City Baths and Queen Victoria Market. After 2 hours of exploring, we'll return to the initial meeting point to conclude this tour.
