Join us on this bus tour of Melbourne, visiting the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, and the Eureka Centre. We will also enjoy views from the Melbourne Skydeck.
Description
On the tour day, pickup is from Eureka Tower at the scheduled time. We will travel west from Melbourne in an air-conditioned bus to our first destination.
The first stop is the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, featuring over 50 trees recognized by the National Trust Significant Trees Register. Visitors can explore the conservatory with floral displays including Hydrangeas in Summer, Chrysanthemums in May, and Spring Bulbs.
Next, we will visit Lake Wendouree, the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games venue for rowing and canoeing. It is a scenic location with gardens, sculptures, and diverse birdlife, including Black Swans.
Following this, we'll go to Sovereign Hill, an open-air museum replicating an 1850 Goldfields town. Activities include gold panning, touring mines, and seeing traditional crafts. Lunch is available, and visitors can dress in period clothing and enjoy a horse and coach ride.
At the Eureka Centre, we will explore the cultural impact of the gold rush and miner’s rebellion through interactive exhibits and displays in Eureka Stockade Memorial Park.
On our return to Eureka Tower, we conclude with a visit to the Melbourne Skydeck, featuring views from the 88th floor, 300 metres (984 feet) high.
