Join us on this bus tour of Melbourne, visiting the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, and the Eureka Centre. We will also enjoy views from the Melbourne Skydeck.
Description
On the tour day, pickup will be at Eureka Tower at the specified time. We will travel west out of Melbourne on an air-conditioned bus.
Our first stop is the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, where we will admire over 50 trees on the National Trust Significant Trees Register and see floral displays such as Hydrangeas, Chrysanthemums, and Spring Bulbs.
Next, we will visit Lake Wendouree, the former venue for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Visitors can stroll through gardens, view sculptures, and observe the local birdlife, including Black Swans, among the 166 different wildlife species present.
Afterward, we will explore Sovereign Hill, an 1850 Goldfields town open-air museum. Activities include gold panning, underground mine tours, craft demonstrations, and the option to dress in traditional attire for a horse and coach ride. Lunch will also be available.
Afterward, we will head to the Eureka Centre to learn about the cultural impact of the gold rush and the miner’s rebellion, featuring interactive displays and the surrounding Eureka Stockade Memorial Park.
Finally, we will return to the Eureka Tower and visit the Melbourne Skydeck, where we will take the fastest lift in the Southern Hemisphere to the 88th floor, enjoying views from 300 metres (984 feet) high.
