Hiking in Castro Laboreiro

We will meet you at your chosen time at the campsite of Lamas de Mouro, located on the outskirts of Castro Laboreiro. From there, we will begin the challenging hiking tour.

This area's remote location within the Pene-Gerês National Park allows it to maintain millenary traditions such as transhumance, involving the seasonal movement of livestock. We will learn about herding and grazing while exploring the slope connected to the plateau.

During the hike, we will visit the remnants of a large megalithic complex, walk through black oak forests, cross bridges from various eras, and take in views of the national park mountains. Notably, the Castle of Castro Laboreiro, established in the 10th century to defend against Galician troops, can be found nestled among the rocks.

After a two-hour hike, we will return to our starting point, concluding the experience.
