On this high-mountain bus tour through the Andes from Mendoza, we'll view the steep peaks of Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas, and reach the Argentinean-Chilean border for scenic views of the Andes.

Andes High Mountain Tour

Between 7 and 7:30 am, hotel pickup will occur as we head west toward the Andes. The 120-kilometer (75-mile) trip will take approximately 3 hours, passing the Mendoza River and Potrerillos Dam.

The first stop is Uspallata, at over 2000 meters (6,500 feet), where you'll learn about its history before continuing to Punta de Vacas. From here, you can see Tupungato Volcano and shortly after reach Los Penitentes ski station.

Next, we'll visit Puente del Inca, a natural bridge over the Las Cuevas river, with a viewpoint of Aconcagua.

Aconcagua Provincial Park is open from November to April, during which an optional hike to Laguna de los Horcones is available (not included).

We'll proceed to Las Cuevas and ascend to Christ the Redeemer of the Andes (accessible January to March). You will have one hour for lunch in Las Cuevas, to enjoy local cuisine.

After lunch, we'll drive back to Mendoza, stopping at Uspallata for a break before the final 3-hour drive back to your hotel, arriving between 7 and 8 pm.
