Cordon del Plata Provincial Park Trek

After picking you up at your hotel in Mendoza between 7:30 am and 8 am, we will drive along National Route 7 to the Andean towns of Cacheuta and Potrerillos. At Potrerillos, we will stop briefly to admire the large reservoir nestled between mountains.

We will regain our strength with some traditional empanadas from Mendoza and an infusion as we continue to Vallecitos ski resort, located in Cordón del Plata Provincial Park. From here, we will start a 6.5-hour trek of moderate difficulty, reaching an elevation of 12,600 feet above sea level.

We will hike through the stunning Quebrada de Arenales gorge until we reach the summits of Pico Andresito and Cerro Arenales. We will observe wildlife native to this area before heading to the top of Cerro Lomas Blancas for panoramic views of the Cordón del Plata range. A picnic lunch with sandwiches or empanadas, fruit, alfajores, and sweets will be provided.

Following lunch, we will descend through the Morenas Coloradas valley. The trek will conclude at the Vallecitos ski resort by 4 pm, after which we will return to your hotel in Mendoza, arriving between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.
