Travel to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve and discover one of the most biodiverse regions of the Yucatán with a boat ride alongside flamingos and herons.
Tour Details
We’ll meet at the designated location in Mérida at the scheduled time and head to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a 90-minute boat tour through the mangroves. You’ll see Bird Island with pink flamingos, herons, hawks, and pelicans, and navigate through Valeosera Lagoon and Quinitun Lagoon. Don’t forget your camera for potential crocodile sightings.
We will continue through the mangrove forest, observing ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer, among over 300 species. There will be a stop at a cenote in the mangroves, where you may take a dip if conditions permit.
Next, we’ll visit Celestún Beach at the Beach Club, allowing for three hours of free time to enjoy a fish or chicken fillet lunch and relax on the beach. We will then return to Mérida, concluding our nine-hour tour.
