Discover a picturesque Yucatecan town on this day trip to Izamal from Merida, including a visit to Valladolid and Chichen Itza.

Description

We'll meet at the pickup point in Merida at the scheduled time and depart for Valladolid to begin a 1-hour panoramic tour of its streets, notable for being the third most populated city on the Yucatan peninsula. Highlights include the fortified convent of San Bernardino de Siena from the 16th century and the Cathedral of San Gervasio in Baroque style.

After the tour, a brief stop for a buffet-style lunch featuring traditional Yucatan dishes will be made at a local restaurant. Following lunch, we will proceed to Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will see various temples, the ball game area, and the observatory among others.

The last stop will be Izamal, known as "Mexico's yellow city." A 1.5-hour tour will be conducted through the historic center, including the Convent of San Antonio de Padua, built by Franciscan monks atop the town's Maya pyramids. Finally, we will return to Merida, arriving back at the meeting point approximately 12 hours later.
