Day Trip to Las Coloradas & Rio Lagartos

Join us on this captivating day trip from Merida to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos, where you'll encounter crocodiles and flamingos and be enchanted by the pink waters of a unique ecosystem in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Description

Our adventure will begin at the scheduled time as we gather at the Paseo 60 shopping mall. We will set off on a minibus, leaving Merida behind for our journey to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos.

After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, our first destination will be the Las Coloradas reserve. The striking colors of yellow, orange, and pink in the waters are due to high concentrations of salt and algae.

We will embark on a 1.5-hour hiking route to explore this natural wonderland.

Next, we will visit the mesmerizing Rio Lagartos for a two-hour boat ride, where you may observe diverse wildlife, including crocodiles and flamingos in their natural habitat.

After the boat excursion, you will have the opportunity to experience a traditional Maya bath using white mud, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.

As our exploration concludes, you will be transported back to Merida, marking the end of our memorable twelve-hour adventure.
