Day Trip to Las Coloradas & Rio Lagartos

Join us on this captivating day trip from Merida to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos, where you'll encounter crocodiles and flamingos and be enchanted by the pink waters of a unique ecosystem in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Description

Our adventure will begin at the scheduled time as we gather at the Paseo 60 shopping mall. We will depart on a minibus, leaving Merida behind for our journey to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos.

After a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive, our first destination will be the Las Coloradas reserve. The distinctive hues of yellow, orange, and pink in the waters are due to high concentrations of salt and algae, creating an extraordinary landscape.

We'll embark on a 1.5-hour hiking route through this area, exploring its unique features.

Next, we will visit the beautiful Rio Lagartos for a boat ride, giving you the chance to observe local wildlife, including crocodiles and flamingos in their natural habitat.

After the two-hour boat excursion along the Lagartos River, enjoy a traditional Maya bath with white mud, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.

As our twelve-hour adventure concludes, you'll be transported back to your starting point in Merida.
