Join us on this captivating day trip from Merida to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos, where you'll encounter crocodiles and flamingos and experience the pink waters of a unique ecosystem in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Description
Our adventure begins at the scheduled time at the Paseo 60 shopping mall. We will depart in a minibus, leaving the city of Merida as we journey to Las Coloradas and Rio Lagartos.
Following a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive, our first stop will be the Las Coloradas reserve, known for its yellow, orange, and pink waters resulting from high salt and algae concentrations.
We will embark on a 1.5-hour hiking route to explore this natural wonderland.
Next, we will visit Rio Lagartos, where we will take a two-hour boat ride to observe local wildlife, including crocodiles and flamingos in their natural habitat.
After the boat excursion, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Maya bath with white mud, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
We will return to the starting point in Merida, concluding our memorable twelve-hour adventure.
