Come with us on this day trip to the Mucuyché Hacienda to relive the splendour of Yucatán's Henequen Era. You'll have a guided tour of the estate and the opportunity to take a dip in its majestic cenotes.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Merida and head towards the Mucuyché Hacienda in Abalá. After a 1-hour journey, the guided tour of the estate will begin.
The estate, whose name means 'tree of the dove', has a 17th-century history linked to the Henequen industry. Following the decline of this industry, the hacienda was closed for many years. However, much of its original state has been preserved with minimal restorations, allowing appreciation of its authentic beauty.
Following the tour, you'll have 3 hours of free time to enjoy the cenotes on the estate. You can swim in the Carlota Cenote, which is semi-open and approximately 7 metres (23 feet) deep, named after Empress Carlota, who visited in 1865. You will also have the option to explore the Azul Maya Cenote, with the chance to travel between cenotes by swimming or walking along a stone path.
At the end of the trip, we will return to Merida and conclude at your hotel after this 6-hour day trip.
