Let yourself be charmed by the magical villages of Yucatan on this excursion to Izamal and Motul. You'll follow in the footsteps of the Mayans and swim in a cenote.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Mérida and begin this excursion to Izamal and Motul.
First, we will visit the town of Motul. Upon arrival, we'll stop at the local market to taste the traditional eggs from Motul.
Next, we will approach the Sambulá Cenote where you can take a dip in its crystalline waters. Afterward, we'll visit the Museum of Felipe Carrillo Puerto to see objects belonging to a significant figure in Yucatan's history.
We will then head to the magical town of Izamal, known for its yellow-painted buildings. Here, we will explore the City of the Three Cultures and visit the monastery of San Antonio de Padua, constructed with stones from a Mayan pyramid.
Lastly, we'll visit the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid, one of the largest structures in Mesoamerica, dedicated to a Mayan god. We will conclude the tour with a drive back to Mérida, finishing after 8 hours of sightseeing at your hotel.
