Izamal Day Trip + Light & Sound Show

On this day trip to Izamal, we'll explore this Pueblo Mágico and enjoy the light and sound show in its historic centre.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Merida and drive by minibus towards Izamal, where we'll arrive after about 1.5 hours.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid for a guided tour, offering a panoramic view of the historical centre characterized by its yellow houses. We'll discuss the influence of Pope John Paul II on the color scheme.

Next, we'll visit the convent of San Antonio de Padua, located near the main square of Izamal. This 16th-century Franciscan convent is one of the most important historical monuments of Yucatan.

We'll also stop in Kimbilá, known for making guayaberas. Here, you'll have 1 hour of free time to explore the shops and varieties of garments. Afterward, you can have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we'll attend the light and sound show in Izamal, featuring colorful projections on the façade of the Convent of San Antonio de Padua, blending audiovisuals, architecture, and history.

Following the show, we'll return to Mérida and drop you off at your hotel approximately 10 hours after the initial pickup.
