Izamal Day Trip + Light & Sound Show

On this excursion to Izamal, we'll explore this Pueblo Mágico and enjoy the light and sound show in its historic center.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Merida and drive by minibus towards Izamal, arriving after about 1.5 hours.

Upon arrival, we'll approach the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid, where we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the historical center of Izamal, characterized by its yellow houses. We'll discuss the influence of Pope John Paul II on this color.

After taking photos, we'll visit the convent of San Antonio de Padua, located near the main square of Izamal. This 16th-century Franciscan convent is one of the most important historical monuments of Yucatan.

We'll also visit a craft workshop in this Pueblo Mágico, enjoy a typical dish at a traditional restaurant, and attend the light and sound show in Izamal. The audiovisuals on the yellow façade of the Convent of San Antonio de Padua will impress, blending architecture and history.

After the show, we'll return to Mérida, dropping you off at your hotel approximately 10 hours after the initial pickup.
