Meteorite Museum + Jurassic Trail Day Trip

On this day trip from Mérida, we'll visit the Meteorite Museum and the Jurassic Trail.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Mérida and head for the coastal town of Progreso. This excursion will take us back to 66 million years ago, during the time of the dinosaurs.

Our first stop will be at the Meteorite Museum, where we will explore 8 rooms detailing the asteroid that impacted this area, forming the Chicxulub crater, which is over 180 kilometers (111 miles) in diameter, making it the largest in the world. This impact contributed to the extinction of numerous species. Visitors can view fossils, dinosaur recreations, and virtual reality digital exhibits. There is also a lookout point offering views of the Caribbean Sea and a cenote.

Afterwards, we will visit the Jurassic Trail, a theme park located in the port of Chicxulub, featuring numerous life-size dinosaur replicas, including Velociraptors, Bachiosaurus, Triceratops, Dakotaraptor, and T-Rex.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Mérida, concluding the tour after 4 hours of activity.
