Meteorite Museum + Jurassic Trail Day Trip

On this day trip from Mérida, we'll visit the Meteorite Museum and the Jurassic Trail.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Mérida and head to the coastal town of Progreso. Our first stop will be the Meteorite Museum. Here, we'll explore 8 rooms that provide insight into the asteroid that fell, creating the Chicxulub crater, which is over 180 kilometres (111 miles) in diameter.

This meteorite caused the extinction of numerous species on Earth. You will see fossils, recreations of dinosaurs, and virtual reality digital exhibits. Additionally, there is a lookout point for views of the Caribbean Sea and a cenote.

Afterwards, we'll visit the Jurassic Trail, located in the port of Chicxulub, where life-size dinosaur recreations are on display. Velociraptors, Bachiosaurus, Triceratops, Dakotaraptor, and T-Rex will be among the specimens you will see.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Mérida, concluding the tour after 4 hours of activity.
