Meteorite Museum + Jurassic Trail Day Trip

On this day trip from Mérida, we'll visit the Meteorite Museum and the Jurassic Trail .

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Mérida and head for the coastal town of Progreso, going back to 66 million years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Our first stop will be at the Meteorite Museum, which features 8 rooms detailing the asteroid that created the Chicxulub crater, the largest in the world at over 180 kilometres (111 miles) in diameter. This meteorite caused the extinction of numerous species. The museum includes fossils, dinosaur recreations and virtual reality digital exhibits. A lookout point also offers views of the Caribbean Sea and a cenote.

Afterwards, we will visit the Jurassic Trail, a theme park in the port of Chicxulub featuring life-size dinosaur recreations, including Velociraptors, Bachiosaurus, Triceratops, Dakotaraptor and T-Rex.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Mérida, concluding the tour after 4 hours of activity.
