Description
At the chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and start this private tour of Merida. You'll walk through the charming old town with a guide exclusively for your group.
The tour will begin with a walk to Santa Lucia Park and a stroll along the Zócalo until we reach the Yucatan Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in Mexico. There, we’ll see the Door of Forgiveness, featuring images of St. Peter and St. Paul.
Next, we’ll continue through the Zócalo to discover the meaning of the "sillas confidentes" and discuss T'Hó, the ancient Mayan city upon which Merida was built.
We will admire the exterior of the Plateresque-style Montejo house, built by Spanish conquistadors.
Before finishing the tour, we'll stop at the Canton Palace, an eclectic mansion from the early 20th century, and briefly at the Monumento a la Patria, which depicts key milestones in Mexico's history.
After 2 hours, we'll conclude the private tour of Merida back at your hotel.
