Progreso Day Trip

If you want to relax in a dreamlike place, our day trip to Progreso is perfect for you. We'll set off from Mérida and admire some of the best scenery in the Gulf of Mexico.

Progreso Day Trip

At 11 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Mérida and head to Progreso. After 40 minutes on the road, we'll arrive in Progreso, officially known as Progreso de Castro, honoring the first person to promote its port. During our walking tour, we'll explain the city's founding at the end of the 19th century and its connection to maritime trade.

We'll stroll along the boardwalk area and discuss the current significance of the city as a key port for cargo and tourist cruise ships, featuring a 4-mile (6-kilometre) long quay.

You will have around 3 hours of free time to relax in the turquoise waters at the white sandy beaches. Additionally, you can experience the local gastronomy by having lunch at one of the restaurants on the boardwalk.

After a total of 4 hours of sightseeing, we will return you to your hotel in Mérida.
