Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Mérida to begin our trip along the famous and mysterious Puuc Route. Did you know the word "Puuc" means mountain or hill? On this tour, we'll explore the archaeological jewels of the Maya civilization in the Yucateca region.
The first stop will be at Labná, an ancient Maya city famous for its stone carvings. We'll then travel to Kabah, Sayil, and Xlapak, three archaeological sites that are part of the Puuc Route. At each site, we’ll explain the details of their structures and learn about Maya architecture and its symbolism.
We'll continue our tour in the majestic city of Uxmal, one of the most important Maya archaeological sites in Mexico. There, we'll admire the Soothsayer's Pyramid, the Governor's Palace, and other significant constructions that illustrate the rich history of this ancient civilization.
Halfway through the tour, we’ll stop for a Yucateca lunch in a local restaurant. After the meal, we'll return to Mérida, concluding the trip.
