Are you in Mérida and passionate about history? Then don't miss the famous Puuc Route! Here, we'll visit some of the most important archaeological areas in Yucatán.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Mérida to begin our trip along the famous and mysterious Puuc Route. The word "Puuc" means mountain or hill. On this tour, we will explore the archaeological jewels of the Maya civilization in the Yucateca region.
The first stop will be at Labná, an ancient Maya city known for its stone carvings. We'll proceed to Kabah, Sayil, and Xlapak, three other archaeological sites along the Puuc Route. At each site, we'll discuss their structures and learn more about Maya architecture and its symbolism.
Our tour continues in the majestic city of Uxmal, a significant Maya archaeological site in Mexico, where we will see the Soothsayer's Pyramid, the Governor's Palace, and other notable constructions that reflect the history of this civilization.
Halfway through the tour, we'll make a short stop for a Yucateca lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, we'll return to Mérida, concluding the trip.
