Uxmal & Choco-Story Museum Tour

On this tour from Merida, we'll visit the archeological complex of Uxmal to discover the pre-colonization culture in this region. Also, we'll learn the history of cocoa at the Choco-Story Museum.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Merida or at the selected meeting point when booking and drive south to Uxmal, one of the main Mayan archaeological sites in the Yucatan Peninsula. Once at this UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll start our guided tour of the monumental complex, highlighting the Pyramid of the Soothsayer. We will also visit the Quadrangle of the Nuns, the Governor's Palace, and the ancient ballgame field to discover its historical significance.

After exploring Uxmal, the tour will proceed to the Choco-Story Museum, featuring an interactive exhibition on the history of cocoa. The museum's collection is arranged in six rooms shaped like traditional Mayan houses, each providing insights into chocolate-related facts. Finally, we'll conclude our tour and return to the departure point, where we'll end the experience after approximately 7 to 8 hours.

Tour With Hotel Pickup + With Tickets + Lunch: includes pickup at your hotel in Mérida, tickets to Uxmal and the Choco-Story Museum, and a stop at a restaurant for a typical Yucatecan lunch before returning.Tour Without Hotel Pickup + Without Tickets + Without Lunch: this affordable option includes pickup at either Paseo Montejo 465 or Calle 3 No. 218 in Merida, and does not include admission tickets to Uxmal and the Choco-Story Museum (costs 37.50 USD for adults and 12 USD for children under 18). Lunch is not included; we suggest bringing food. After the museum visit, we will return directly to the starting point.
