Uxmal & Choco-Story Museum Tour
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Merida and drive south to Uxmal, one of the main Mayan archaeological sites in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Once we arrive at this archaeological complex, declared a World Heritage Site, we'll start our guided tour of the entire monumental complex. A major highlight is the Pyramid of the Soothsayer. The tour will continue by visiting other important vestiges such as the Quadrangle of the Nuns and the Governor's Palace. We'll also visit the ancient ball game field to explore this pre-Columbian sport.
After learning more about Uxmal, the tour proceeds to the Choco-Story Museum. Its interactive exhibition will allow us to delve into the history of cocoa and the different products made from it. The museum's collection is arranged in six rooms shaped like traditional Mayan houses, where we'll discover chocolate-related facts.
Following the museum visit, we'll go to a restaurant in the Uxmal area for lunch, featuring a traditional Yucatecan dish with several options available.
Lastly, we'll return to your hotel in Merida, arriving at 5 pm.
