Would you like to know the secrets of the Mayan culture? On this tour to Uxmal from Merida we'll visit this impressive archaeological site which is part of the Puuc Route and visit the ancient Hacienda Yaxcopoil.

Description

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Merida and drive to the ancient Hacienda Yaxcopoil to learn more about the culture and traditions of the area.

Hacienda Yaxcopoil means "place of the green poplars." Here, we will discuss its history, which reflects three periods of Yucatán's past: pre-Hispanic life, colonial life, and the henequen boom.

Next, we will proceed to Uxmal, a World Heritage Site, where we will visit key remains, such as the Pyramid of the Soothsayer, the Nun's Quadrangle, the Ball Court, and the Governor's Palace.

After exploring Uxmal, we'll visit a cenote for a refreshing swim. Then, we will meet a local chef who will teach us several typical recipes of Mayan cuisine.

A Yucatecan lunch will follow, featuring a typical dish with several options. If weather conditions prevent an outdoor class, lunch will take place in a restaurant.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Merida, arriving approximately 9 hours after pickup.
