Would you like to know the secrets of the Mayan culture? On this tour to Uxmal from Merida we'll visit this impressive archaeological site which is part of the Puuc Route and visit the ancient Hacienda Yaxcopoil.

Description

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Merida and drive to the Hacienda Yaxcopoil to learn about the culture and traditions of the area.

The name in Mayan means "place of the green poplars." Once there, we'll share the history of this estate, reflecting the three significant periods of Yucatán's past: pre-Hispanic life, colonial life, and the henequen boom.

Next, we'll head to Uxmal, a World Heritage Site. There we'll visit its main remains, including the Pyramid of the Soothsayer, the Nun's Quadrangle, the Ball Court, and the Governor's Palace.

After exploring Uxmal, we'll visit a beautiful cenote where you can take a refreshing dip. Then, we'll move to a neighbouring village to meet with a local chef, who will teach us several typical recipes of Mayan cuisine.

We'll enjoy a delicious Yucatecan lunch that includes a typical dish of the region, with several options available. If weather conditions do not allow for an outdoor class, lunch will be provided in a restaurant.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Merida, where we'll arrive 9 hours after pickup.
