Uxmal & Hacienda Yaxcopoil Tour

Would you like to know the secrets of the Mayan culture? On this tour to Uxmal from Merida we'll visit this impressive archaeological site, part of the Puuc Route, and the ancient Hacienda Yaxcopoil.

Description

We will pick you up at your hotel in Merida and drive to Hacienda Yaxcopoil to learn about the area's culture and traditions. Its name in Mayan means "place of the green poplars". At the estate, we'll discuss its history, covering the pre-Hispanic, colonial, and henequen boom periods of Yucatán.

Next, we'll visit Uxmal, a significant World Heritage Site. Highlights include the Pyramid of the Soothsayer, Nun's Quadrangle, Ball Court, and Governor's Palace.

After exploring Uxmal, we'll visit a cenote for a swim. We will then proceed to a local village to meet a chef who will teach us several typical recipes of Mayan cuisine.

A delicious Yucatecan lunch will be served, featuring a regional dish with several options available. If the weather is unsuitable for outdoor dining, we will enjoy lunch in a restaurant.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Merida, arriving 9 hours after pickup.
