Uxmal & Kabah Day Trip
After meeting in the center of Mérida at the scheduled time, we'll begin this day trip to Uxmal and Kabah, two significant vestiges of the Maya civilization.
We'll take a guided tour of the archaeological site of Uxmal, exploring its key attractions. We will view the Pyramid of the Magician while the guide narrates the legend of its construction and the story of the dwarf fortune teller.
The tour will include visits to other notable structures in Uxmal, such as the Governor's Palace, the House of Doves, the Old House, the cemetery, and the Falos Temple. The preservation of the city allows for an immersive experience of Uxmal's historical significance.
After Uxmal, we will drive for 20 minutes to another archaeological site, Kabah, dedicated to the Maya god of rain, Chaac. Here, we will view the numerous masks adorning the walls of Codz Poop and learn about the related rain rituals.
We will also see the statues of the Maya kings throughout the city and visit the palace, the largest structure in Kabah.
We will conclude the day trip by returning to the meeting point in Mérida, arriving 7 hours after departure.
