Hike Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel or Port of Messina to set off to the northern slopes of Mount Etna, the starting point of our adventure. This destination is for those who love hiking and for those who want to see this natural wonder in Sicily.
We will hike for approximately 3 hours among ancient craters, enjoying the stunning volcanic landscapes and the vegetation related to the last large eruption from 2002.
After the hike, our vehicle will take us to the area around the town of Castiglione di Sicilia, crossing the Sicilian countryside and vineyards until we reach the Alcantara Valley, where we will enjoy a picnic-style lunch with typical products from the island.
After lunch, we will head to the shores of the Alcantara River to see its impressive volcanic cliffs and basalt walls. You may take a dip in the river, take pictures, and visit the Alcantara Gorges, which bloom from April to July, covering the land in lush greenery.
Finally, we will return to Messina and conclude our tour after a total of 7 hours.
