Fall in love with the medieval charm of the Corleone family's home city of Savoca, as you explore its historic streets. And you'll also visit the Roman ruins in Taormina. A complete experience!

Savoca and Taormina Day Trip

We will meet at the Messina port and board a bus to Savoca, a picturesque medieval city at 300 metres above sea level. During the hour-long journey, we will discuss the significance of this location to the film industry, particularly as the setting for scenes in The Godfather. We'll explore its cobbled streets, visit the St. Nicolas church where Michael and Apollonia celebrated their wedding, and stop at the iconic bar Vitelli.

After Savoca, we will continue to Taormina, which offers views of the sea and the Etna volcano. We will visit the Greek and Roman theatre, and explore Corso Umberto, the town's main attractions. Participants will have free time for shopping at street stalls and enjoying local cuisine in nearby restaurants (not included).

Cruises

This day trip is available as a shore excursion. Cruise passengers must provide their boat name; we will meet in the disembarkment area half an hour after the cruise ship is scheduled to arrive.
