Meteora Hiking Expedition

Your journey begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation, as we set off for Meteora, a remarkable destination where stunning natural beauty merges with artistic heritage.

Following a brief 20-minute drive in a minibus, we will embark on an immersive four-hour hiking expedition through the mountains, the same breathtaking setting chosen by early monks to establish their remarkable monasteries. Guided by an English-speaking expert, you will hike approximately 5 miles (8 km), retracing the very paths these early settlers walked to uncover the essence of Meteora.

During this adventure, we will explore the ruins of several monasteries that have succumbed to time, as well as visit and learn about one of the actively operating monasteries: either the Grand Meteora Monastery or the Varlaam Monastery (entry fees not included), depending on the day's schedule. While detailed information will be offered about the selected monastery, please note that this segment of the tour operates without a guide.

This experience promises a day immersed in nature, engaging in physical activity while revealing one of Greece's most significant sites, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

Upon completing the hiking circuit around Meteora, we'll return to the minibus for the journey back to your hotel.
