Meteora Sunset Trip

The monasteries of Meteora are a key attraction in Greece. This day trip from Kalambaka allows you to appreciate the sunset at this remarkable site and visit one or two UNESCO-protected monasteries.

Picking you up from your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki in the morning, an English-speaking guide will provide insight into the history of the towering rock formations, which rise over 600 meters, and the monasteries situated atop them.

Out of the original 24 monasteries, 13 remain, with six available for visitation: the Grand Meteora Monastery, St. Nicholas Monastery, Monastery of the Holy Trinity, St. Stephen's Monastery, Roussanou, and Varlaam Monasteries. During your trip, you will visit one or two of these, illuminated by the setting sun.

You will also explore the Byzantine church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, an 11th-century structure located beneath the Meteora rocks.

Concluding your day, enjoy the breathtaking view of the sun setting behind the monasteries, with time allocated for sunset photography before returning to your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki.
