La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip

The Caribbean wilderness will dazzle you on this day trip to La Jalda waterfall, considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Dominican Republic.

Tour Options

At the time of booking, you can choose between two different tour options. Both include pickup at the Atabey Hotel in Miches, roundtrip transportation, a guided hike through the Dominican jungle, and lunch by the waterfall.

Below, you can see the details of each tour:

La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip (9 hours)

Pickup is at the Atabey Hotel in Miches, followed by transportation to the community of La Loma. The tour includes a 2-hour hike through the Dominican jungle, featuring various tropical plants, cacao and coffee plantations, and the chance to swim in the base of Salto de La Jalda, a waterfall over 120 meters (400 feet) high. A picnic lunch is provided near the waterfall. Afterward, participants can opt for homemade fruit wine or other beverages accompanied by chocolate and cookies. The tour concludes with a return to the hotel after approximately 9 hours.

La Jalda Waterfall + Montaña Redonda Day Trip (10.5 hours)

This option follows the same itinerary to the community of La Loma. After the hike, instead of returning directly to Miches, the group will travel to Montaña Redonda, 30 minutes away, to enjoy a scenic sunset. Participants will have the opportunity to take pictures on swings and hammocks. The return to Miches is approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes later.
