Explore different eras of Mexico City on this guided tour of the most historical places in the Chapultepec Forest: the Chapultepec Castle and the National Anthropological Museum.
Tour Details
The first stop is the Chapultepec Castle, currently the National History Museum, a site of significant historical events, serving various roles until 1944. It was also an imperial palace during the "Second Mexican Empire".
We will spend 1 hour 30 minutes at the castle, where visitors can view sculptures of figures such as Cuauhte?moc and Hernán Cortés, and learn about the history of conquest, independence, and revolution. Additionally, the tour includes time to enjoy views of Mexico City from the balconies, followed by a short break for refreshments.
Next, the tour continues with a 2-hour 30-minute visit to the National Anthropological Museum, which houses the largest collection of pre-Colombian art globally. Participants will explore reconstructions of Aztec and Mayan tombs and temples, as well as significant archaeological artifacts from the Zapotec, Toltec, Teotihuacan, and Mexica civilizations.
Partial closures
Occasionally, Chapultepec Castle may close without prior notice. If this occurs, a refund for that portion of the tour will be offered.
