On this guided visit to Modena, we will discover the city's most emblematic monuments in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Modena Guided Tour
We will meet in Piazza Grande to start our tour of Modena and its historic downtown area.
Our first stop is in front of the Modena Cathedral, a prime example of Roman architecture in Italy. We will focus on its facade and Ghirlandina Tower, a symbol of Modena. With our guide, we will learn details about these monuments, both declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.
Next, we will stroll the historic downtown streets, learning about the city's history. Piazza Roma notably showcases this history, featuring the Ducal Palace, also home to Modena's Military Academy.
This city is rich in legends. Throughout our tour, we will discuss the significance of vinegar in Modena's culture, its ties to Duke Francis V of Habsburg-East, and the local's admiration for Luciano Pavarotti.
After 1.5 hours exploring the historic streets, we will return to the starting point to conclude our tour.
