Monforte de Lemos Guided Tour

We'll meet up 10 minutes before the scheduled time in front of the Parador Nacional de Turismo and begin our guided walking tour of Monforte de Lemos, the capital of the Ribeira Sacra.

After enjoying panoramic views of the Lemos Valley and learning about this town in Lugo, founded in 1104, we'll explore the exterior of the Monte de San Vicente monumental complex. This includes the County Palace, the Church of San Vicente del Pino, the castle and its keep, and the cloisters of the Monastery of San Vicente del Pino.

Our tour will take us through the medieval village, where we'll see the Campillo de la Virgen, the wall, and its three gates. We'll walk along the falagueira, the street that structures the medieval burgh, and discover the remains of the Jewish quarter, part of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.

Next, we'll visit the Dominican Convent, the present-day Church of A Régoa, the old bridge, and the exterior of the Convent of the Poor Clares.

Finally, we'll pass by the Ribeira Sacra Wine Centre until we arrive at the Plaza de España, concluding our guided tour of Monforte de Lemos after 2 hours of history and architecture.
