Monforte de Lemos Guided Tour

We'll meet up 10 minutes before the scheduled time in front of the Parador Nacional de Turismo for our walking tour of Monforte de Lemos, the capital of Ribeira Sacra. The tour will begin with panoramic views of the Lemos Valley while sharing historical facts about this town founded in 1104.

Participants will explore the exterior of the Monte de San Vicente monumental complex, including the County Palace, the Church of San Vicente del Pino, and the castle grounds. Additionally, we will visit the cloisters of the Monastery of San Vicente del Pino.

The tour continues through the medieval village, where we will observe the Campillo de la Virgen and its ancient wall with three gates. The route includes the falagueira street and the remains of the Jewish quarter, part of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.

We will then proceed to see the Dominican Convent, the current Church of A Régoa, the old bridge, and the exterior of the Convent of the Poor Clares.

The tour concludes at the Ribeira Sacra Wine Centre, finally arriving at the Plaza de España after a 2-hour exploration of history and architecture.
