Monforte de Lemos Guided Tour

We will meet 10 minutes before the scheduled time in front of the Parador Nacional de Turismo to start our guided walking tour of Monforte de Lemos, the capital of the Ribeira Sacra. The tour includes panoramic views of the Lemos Valley and historical insights about this Lugo town, founded in 1104.

During the tour, we will explore the exterior of the Monte de San Vicente monumental complex, including the County Palace, the Church of San Vicente del Pino, and the castle. Additionally, we will visit the cloisters of the Monastery of San Vicente del Pino.

Next, we will walk through the medieval village, where we will see the Campillo de la Virgen, the wall, and its three gates. We will explore the falagueira street and the remains of the Jewish quarter, part of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters.

Afterward, we will view the Dominican Convent, the present-day Church of A Régoa, the old bridge, and the exterior of the Convent of the Poor Clares.

Finally, we will pass the Ribeira Sacra Wine Centre before concluding our guided tour at the Plaza de España after 2 hours of exploring history and architecture.
