Join us on a guided tour through the capital of Ribeira Sacra, where you'll discover the essence of Monforte de Lemos. As we navigate its charming streets, we will visit the most significant monuments that tell the story of this historic town.

We will gather 10 minutes prior to departure at the Parador Nacional de Turismo, setting the stage for our guided walkthrough of Monforte de Lemos, which has served as the heart of Ribeira Sacra.

As we begin our adventure, prepare to be captivated by stunning panoramic views of Lemos Valley while uncovering intriguing tidbits about this Lugo town, established in 1104. Our walk will take us around the Monte de San Vicente monumental complex, where we will observe the impressive County Palace, the Church of San Vicente del Pino, and the castle along with its keep from a distance. Additionally, the cloisters of the Monastery of San Vicente del Pino will also be on our route.

Continuing through the narrow lanes of the medieval village, we'll encounter notable sites such as the Campillo de la Virgen, the ancient city walls, and its three gates. Our path will also guide us through the falagueira, the pivotal street of the medieval burgh. Here, we will unearth the vestiges of the Jewish quarter, integral to the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters, where we can observe the ruins of the old synagogue and reflect on its historical significance as the hub of Galicia’s most prominent Jewish community.

Leaving the medieval core, we will visit the Dominican Convent and the existing Church of A Régoa, along with the old bridge and the exterior of the Convent of the Poor Clares.

Our journey will eventually lead us by the Ribeira Sacra Wine Centre as we make our way to the Plaza de España. After two enriching hours filled with history and magnificent architecture, our guided tour of Monforte de Lemos will conclude.
