El Tigre Waterfalls Hike

On this trip to El Tigre Waterfalls, we'll explore Monteverde's wild side with a day of hiking, horseriding, and ziplining.

Tour Options

When booking, you can choose from two options. Both include hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, an admission ticket to El Tigre Waterfalls, and lunch. Each tour lasts 5 hours. Here are the available options:

Hiking & Horseriding

Upon arrival at El Tigre Waterfalls, we will explain how to access the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve hiking trail. This trail covers the first 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) where you'll meet your guide and cross several hanging bridges. We will stop at 4 waterfalls ranging from 15 to 30 metres high (50-98 feet) for a dip in the natural pools.

Following this, we will ride horses for the final 3 kilometres (1.8 miles) to the summit, offering scenic views of surrounding volcanoes: Arenal, Rincón de la Vieja, Tenorio, and Miravalles. Bring your cameras for stunning vistas!

Hiking & Horseriding + Bicycle Zipline

This option includes the same hike and horse ride, followed by the El Tigre Waterfalls Bicycle Zipline. You'll don zipline equipment and pedal along the zipline cables over a height of 70 metres (230 feet), enjoying views of the cloud forest and waterfalls on a 500-metre (0.3-mile) ride.

Hotel pickup services are included for those staying in the centre of Monteverde and Santa Elena.
