There are two options for hiking around the Cloud Forest, both lasting 3 hours:
Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
This reserve is distinguished by being in a constant cloud at an elevation of 1,600 metres (5,250 feet) above sea level. A guide will provide insights into the fauna and flora, showcasing one of the most biodiverse ecosystems globally. Sightings may include monkeys, coatis, hummingbirds, and potentially the quetzal. The route covers approximately 9 hikes, with a highlight being the La Ventana viewpoint, offering views of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve
This option involves exploration of the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, located on the Tilarán mountain range adjacent to the Monteverde conservation area. This reserve spans over 300 hectares (741 acres) and features hundreds of plant and animal species, including spider monkeys and sloths.
