Night Hike in Oktari Monteverde

Tour Details

We will meet 200 m (656 ft) north of the Bon Appetit restaurant at the indicated time. The adventure through Oktari Monteverde, a private reserve near Santa Elena, will begin from this point, providing an ideal setting to observe wildlife in nature.

The hike will commence on a path surrounded by lush vegetation, with the atmosphere changing as night falls. The tour involves traversing natural trails without steps, featuring moss-covered surfaces, small springs, and up to four bridges that provide opportunities to stop and view nocturnal fauna in their habitat.

During the tour, participants will learn about the cloud forest ecosystem and its unique inhabitants, including bioluminescent insects, tree frogs, armadillos, and potentially a sloth or kinkajou in the branches—a genuine nighttime adventure.

The tour concludes with a return to the starting point after two hours in the Costa Rican jungle.
