Montepulciano & Pienza Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet in Montepulciano's Piazza Grande to start the tour of this hill town.

From the central square, we'll admire the façade of the Santa Assunta Cathedral, the Palazzo Comunale, and the Well of the Griffins and Lions. We'll stroll past Renaissance palaces in the old town until we reach the Madonna di San Biagio Sanctuary to analyze its architectural details.

We will visit an underground cellar to taste the local Montepulciano Vino Nobile wine, one of the oldest wines in Italy.

After the wine tasting, we'll board a minibus for a drive through the Orcia Valley to Pienza, known as an ideal Renaissance town due to its elegant buildings and classical street layout.

We'll explore Pienza’s UNESCO-protected historic centre, viewing the façade of the Pienza Cathedral, the Piccolomini and Borgia palaces, and tasting pecorino cheese.

The tour concludes with our return to the starting point after 3 hours.
