Discover the food culture of the Montepulciano region on this tour which includes a visit to a cheese maker and a traditional winery. You can taste the famous pecorino cheese and sample two different wines.

Pecorino Cheese and Wine Tour

The tour meets at 1 pm in the Montepulciano piazza Grande, where we welcome you aboard the minibus and begin the tour.

Crossing the Orcia Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll arrive at our first stop, a cheesemaker in the Pienza region, known for producing one of the most famous varieties of pecorino cheese in Italy.

Here we'll learn about the artisans dedicated to the production of this Tuscan delicacy. Every step of the production process will be explored, from caring for the sheep to the tasting, including a tasting of different types of pecorino cheese.

Next, we'll visit a winery in Montepulciano to discover nobile wine, a protected denomination exclusive to this region. We will explore the winery where the wine is made and aged before tasting this variety along with another to compare.

The tour concludes back at the starting point at 4 pm.
