The tour meets at 1 pm in the Montepulciano Piazza Grande, where participants will board the minibus to begin the tour.
Traveling through the Orcia Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will first stop at a cheesemaker in the Pienza region, known for producing one of the most famous varieties of pecorino cheese in Italy.
Participants will learn about the artisans involved in producing this Tuscan delicacy. Every aspect of the production process, from caring for the sheep to tasting, will be covered, including a delicious pecorino tasting.
Next, the tour continues to Montepulciano to visit a winery. This region is known for its nobile wine, a protected denomination that is one of the oldest varieties in Italy. Visitors will explore the winery, learning about the making and aging processes, before tasting this wine and another variety for comparison.
