Why See the Lascaux Cave Paintings?
The cave paintings of Lascaux are known as the Sistine Chapel of prehistoric art due to the quality of their paintings. The original cave, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been closed to the public since 1963 to preserve its artwork.
With your ticket, you’ll spend an hour exploring a precise replica of the Lascaux Cave with either a guide or an audio guide, based on your selection. This reproduction allows you to admire hundreds of prehistoric paintings and engravings.
After visiting the replica, you’ll have an hour and a half of free time to explore the center, which includes:
