Join us for an exciting day trip to Aigues-Mortes and the Carbonnière Tower, where we’ll explore a fortified city alongside a 13th-century watchtower. This excursion offers a comprehensive glimpse into the fascinating region of Occitania!

Day Trip Details



At the scheduled time, we will gather in front of O’Sullivans Pub Montpellier. From there, a comfortable minibus will transport us to embark on a stunning journey through the Occitania region in southern France. With everyone on board, we’re ready to depart!



After a drive of approximately 28 km (17.4 mi), we’ll arrive at the remarkable walled city of Aigues-Mortes. Imagine a town marvelously constructed over marsh landscapes—it's an exceptional example of historic urban planning! Once in the city, we’ll stroll through the center and along the well-preserved fortifications that surround it.



Following our exploration guided by an expert, we’ll have the opportunity to savor a sampling of local specialties, including Camargue salt and fougasse, a fragrant and delectable flatbread, along with a variety of other regional treats.



If your visit falls between April and October, we’ll hop on a train for an enchanting ride across the Camargue Salt Flats. Upon our arrival, the striking pink hues of the lagoon’s waters will transport you to a dreamlike setting—prepare to be astounded!



Once we relish that beautiful experience, we’ll proceed to the Carbonnière Tower. We’ll ascend the staircase to capture breathtaking views of the surrounding wetlands and verdant rice paddies. Don’t forget your cameras!



In conclusion, we will head back to Montpellier and conclude our day trip, marking a total of 3.5 hours by returning to our original meeting point.
