Details of the Day Trip

We will gather in front of the Austra Rock bar, located at Esplanade de l’Europe in Montpellier, at the designated time. From this point, we'll embark on a minibus journey that will take us on a captivating tour through Occitania in southern France. Are you ready? Let’s hit the road!

After a drive of about 28 km (17.4 mi), we’ll arrive at the walled city of Aigues-Mortes. Imagine a settlement constructed on marshlands—it's a remarkable example of historical urban planning. Here, we will stroll through the heart of the town and along the well-preserved city walls.

Following our in-depth guided tour, where we will uncover the town’s unique features, you will be treated to a tasting of local delights such as Camargue salt and fougasse, a flavorful flatbread, alongside other regional specialties.

For those joining between April and October, we’ll board a train for a scenic ride across the Camargue Salt Flats. Upon arrival, the striking pink hues of the lagoon's water will transport you to a surreal landscape. Prepare to be amazed!

After this delightful experience, we will proceed to the Carbonnière Tower. Here, we’ll ascend the staircase for breathtaking views of the marshes and rice paddies. Don’t forget to capture this beautiful scenery!

Eventually, we’ll make our way back to Montpellier, concluding the day trip after approximately 3.5 hours at the initial meeting point.
