Day Trip from Montpellier
At the appointed time, we'll meet at the Odysseum Shopping Center in Montpellier and hop on a minibus for a tour of the Occitania region in the south of France. Following a 28 km (17.3-mile) journey, we'll arrive at the walled city of Aigues-Mortes. Here, we will explore the city center and its well-preserved walls.
If you take the tour between April and October, we'll hop on a small train for a tour of the Salines de la Camargue, featuring the vibrant pink water. If your visit is between November and March, we will go to the Espiguette Lighthouse to see Camargue birds and landscapes of rice fields and marshes.
Next, we will head to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and explore its historic center, including the Romanesque church and the revered Black Virgin from the 10th century.
Finally, we will visit the Torre Carbonnière before returning to Montpellier, where we will ascend the staircase for panoramic views of the marshes and rice paddies. After 8 hours, we will return to the meeting point, concluding the tour.
