Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert Day Trip

We'll meet at 9 am at the Mosson tram station in Montpellier and travel by minibus to Hérault. You'll explore Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a notable medieval village in the region.

Before visiting the village, we'll tour the surrounding area. This includes a visit to a pottery workshop and a stop at a viewpoint to observe the gorges of the area.

The excursion continues to Salagou Lake, where you will have time for lunch while enjoying views of the Hérault valley. The next stop will be at the Pont du Diable, a stone footbridge from the Middle Ages, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

After the bridge visit, a guided tour of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert will follow, highlighting the history of the Gellone Abbey, part of the French Way of St. James.

At 5 pm, we will return to the starting point in Montpellier.
