We'll meet on Avenida Francisco I Madero and embark on a 3-hour drive to El Rosario Sanctuary, a reserve hosting millions of monarch butterflies.

Upon arrival, we'll enter an environment designed to protect this species and located at 9842 feet (3000 meters) above sea level. You can choose to tour the sanctuary on foot or on horseback. During the 1.24 mile (2 kilometer) journey, you may see these butterflies fluttering through the oyamel pine forests.

We'll learn about the butterflies' migration from the United States and Canada to hibernate. Notably, monarch butterflies can fly up to 80.7 miles (130 kilometers) a day and live for up to nine months.

After the sanctuary visit, we'll enjoy a lunch including blue corn quesadilla and a cup of hot soup.

Finally, we'll return to Morelia, concluding the tour after a total of 9 hours.
