Discover one of Michoacán's famous Magical Towns and explore the nature surrounding it on this tour to Tacámbaro and the Alberca de Chupio volcanic crater from Morelia.

Tacámbaro & Alberca de Chupio Tour

At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Morelia and set off for the Magical Town of Tacámbaro.

First, we'll stop on the outskirts of the town to visit the Magdalena Lagoon, a lake surrounded by coniferous forest, where you can swim.

Next, we'll visit the Chapel of María Magdalena, a 16th century church formerly associated with Governor Cristóbal de Oñate and used by Augustinian monks.

We'll then explore the center of Tacámbaro, passing through the Plaza del Santo Niño and admiring the Cathedral, the Church of Fátima, and the Church of Guadalupe. You will have an hour of free time for lunch and to taste local delicacies.

Afterwards, we will proceed to Alberca de Chupio, a volcanic crater located 3 kilometers from the town. While we explore the area, you will learn about the legend of Combate de las Flores, concerning King Tacamba and Purepecha customs.

Afterward, we will return to Morelia, expected back at your hotel by 7 pm.
