Yunuén & Pacanda Islands + Ihuatzio Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Morelia at 9 am to set off for Lake Patzcuaro. After arriving, we will board a boat to Yunuén Island.
On Yunuén Island, we'll stroll through forests of junipers, pines, cedars, and oaks. There will also be a workshop on the Purepecha language, which has three dialects from the central, highland, and lake areas.
Next, we will travel by boat to Pacanda Island, where you have the option to use a 550-metre zip-line to reach the island if you prefer a faster route.
While exploring Pacanda Island, we'll learn about its 400 residents and see the main square and traditional houses. Additionally, you will have an hour of free time to eat.
Afterward, we will board the boat to return to land and travel to the Ihuatzio archaeological site, which served as an astronomical observatory and ceremonial center before Spanish colonization. We will tour Ihuatzio to see the pyramids dedicated to the gods Curicaveri and Xaratanga.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Morelia, with an arrival time at your hotel around 7 pm.
