Sail along a colossal reservoir and admire its hundred-year-old oak trees. With this boat trip on Lake Alqueva, you will see some of inland Portugal's most beautiful scenery.
Alqueva Lake Boat Trip
We will meet at the time of your choice at the Alqueva reservoir, where a boat will be waiting to tour one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. During the journey, we will discuss the history of the dam and the biodiversity of the Guadiana river. We will also pass the Herdade Monte da Tapada hill and the mouth of the river Degebe, which flows into the reservoir. The trip includes sailing around the picturesque small islands of the lake. If the weather permits, we will search for a spot to swim. After a boat trip of 1.5 hours, you can visit the Alqueva Interpretation Centre to view a documentary on the area's transformation due to the dam and its water supply.
The Boat
The boat for the tour has a capacity of 55 people, with outside seating and a summer and winter deck. A refrigerator is available on board to store drinks.
