Berchtesgaden & Eagle's Nest Day Trip
- 10 - 11 Stunden
Leave Munich for a day trip to the Bavarian Alps and visit a mountain-top house related to the Third Reich. Discover its history in Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest.
Description
At the specified time, we'll meet in the center of Munich and take a bus to Berchtesgaden, a mountain town in the Bavarian Alps, near the Germany-Austria border.
Upon arrival, you'll head to Obersalzberg station, the starting point for visits to Kehlsteinhaus, known as the Eagle's Nest, constructed for Nazi Party members. To reach the building, located over 6,000 ft (1,834 m) above sea level, an elevator is used (not included). Inside the building (entrance not included), you'll observe maps and objects used by Hitler and the Nazis during World War II. The Eagle's Nest offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and forests.
After a guided tour of Kehlsteinhaus lasting around 2 hours, you'll return to the base of the mountain via the lift. Next, you'll visit Grafenhöhe, a restaurant in the foothills, where you will have an hour and fifteen minutes for lunch (not included).
Following lunch, the return journey to Munich will commence, concluding the tour after approximately 10 to 10.5 hours.
