Enjoy a train and boat trip to the Bavarian Versailles with this Herrenchiemsee Palace Day Trip. Wander around the impressive royal buildings on the Chiemsee Lake islands.

Herrenchiemsee Palace Day Trip

The tour will start from Munich Central Station at 9:20 am, boarding a one hour train ride towards Chiemsee. From here, you will embark on a boat trip to Herreninsel Island, where the palace is located, as well as visit Fraueninsel Island, home to a Benedictine Convent over 1000 years old.

Upon arrival at the palace, you'll see buildings inspired by the Palace of Versailles in Paris, including a replica of the Hall of Mirrors. The royal residence, built in the 19th century by King Ludwig II, features unique elements reflecting the monarch's personality, such as an elevated dining table designed to avoid seeing his servants.

There is an option for a guided tour of the palace, where you can learn about its history, or you may choose to explore the palace grounds, which offer picturesque views of lakes and mountains.
