Discover the stories, fables and legends behind the walls of the Mad King's Palace on this tour to Neuschwanstein Castle from Munich.
Tour Details
After meeting the guide in the morning, we will leave Munich and head south to Bavaria by bus or train, depending on the season. During the two-hour trip, the professional English-speaking guide will share interesting facts about the region.
The tour includes visits to both Neuschwanstein Castle and the nearby Hohenschwangau Castle, which was the childhood home of Ludwig II of Bavaria. While admiring the castle that inspired Walt Disney, we will learn about the historic figure known as the Mad King.
We will visit the Marienbrücke for viewpoints of Neuschwanstein's architecture, and if time allows and weather permits, there will be an opportunity to stroll to the lake or explore the countryside. A stop will be made for food and drinks.
You can choose to enter Neuschwanstein Castle to see its interior; tickets are not included, but you will not have to wait in line. The castle is a short uphill walk from the car park, or you can take a horse-drawn carriage or bus.
After nine hours of exploring German history and architecture, we will return to Munich to conclude the tour.
Important Info
Tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle are not included (adults: 24EUR; free for children under 18). You can purchase tickets from your guide on the tour day. If you choose not to visit the interior, you will have free time to explore the surroundings.
