Discover the stories, fables, and legends behind the Mad King's Palace on this tour to Neuschwanstein Castle from Munich.
Neuschwanstein Castle Tour
We will meet at Sonnenstraße 1 in Munich and depart to the south of Bavaria on a comfortable bus. During the two-hour trip, our English-speaking guide will share information about the region.
Our first stop is Schloss Linderhof, the smallest castle of the Bavarian King, where you can opt for a guided tour, stroll through the grounds, or enjoy a beverage in a scenic setting.
Next, we will head to Hohenschwangau, where you can have lunch at a restaurant and visit Neuschwanstein Castle.
In addition to Neuschwanstein, we will also view Hohenschwangau Castle, the childhood residence of Ludwig II of Bavaria. The tour includes insights into this figure, known as the Mad King, as we explore the castle that inspired Walt Disney.
You will have the option to enter Neuschwanstein Castle and view its interior. Although tickets are not included (37 EUR for adults and 5 EUR for children under 18), you can buy them from your guide in cash. The castle is a short uphill walk from the parking area, or you can use a horse-drawn carriage or bus.
After approximately 10.5 hours of exploring German history and architecture, we will return to Munich to conclude the tour.
Important
Tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle are not included in the price of the excursion. You can purchase tickets directly from your guide on the day of the excursion. If you opt not to visit the interior, you will have free time to explore the surroundings.
