Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Shirakawa bus terminal to begin our guided tour of this village in one of the most beautiful rural areas of Japan.
First, we'll go to a viewpoint for the best panoramic views of Shirakawa, where we will admire the famous gassho-zukuri-style houses, characterized by their sloping roofs.
Next, we'll visit the Nagase house, a traditional Japanese home over 250 years old, where the same family has lived throughout this period. Here, we will discuss the construction of these houses, their layout, and local life.
Afterward, we'll visit the Myozenji Temple, founded in the 18th century and one of the most sacred places in Shirakawa. We will explore the main prayer hall and the zen garden.
Finally, we'll head to the Shirakawa Hachiman Temple, located on a hilltop, known for its impressive architecture and wonderful views.
