For adventure enthusiasts, the trekking experience on Mount Kenya is an absolute must. Immerse yourself in one of Africa's most renowned expeditions by ascending to the summit of the country's highest peak.

Description

Prepare for an extraordinary journey! At the scheduled time, a van will collect you from your accommodation in Nairobi, and we will head towards the illustrious Mount Kenya.

Our first destination is Nanyuki, the capital of Laikipia County. Notably, this area serves as the headquarters of the Kenyan Air Force and acts as a training ground for the British Army. This location will also mark our starting point for climbing the distinguished Mount Kenya, recognized as the highest mountain in Kenya and the second highest on the African continent.

Upon arrival, we will commence our hike from an elevation of 1,980 metres (6,496 ft) to 2,650 metres (8,694 ft) by way of the Sirimon Gate, covering a distance of 23 kilometres (14 miles) to the pinnacle of Mount Kenya!

The hiking journey will span approximately 3.5 hours, during which you can appreciate the native flora, including bamboo, rosewood trees, and heather. The initial break will be at Old Moses camp, positioned at 3,300 metres (10,826 ft) above sea level.

After a rest period to acclimatize, we will proceed to ascend further to 3,600 metres (11,811 ft), where we will be greeted by breathtaking views of the Nelion and Batian peaks, two of the most prominent summits of Mount Kenya. Every moment of effort will be rewarded!

With plenty of photos captured, we will begin our return to the camp, where a delicious picnic lunch awaits to rejuvenate us. Following our meal, we will continue our descent back to the Sirimon Gate. There, a minibus will be on standby to transport us back to Nairobi.

Concluding this remarkable day, we will drop you off at your hotel after a memorable 13-hour excursion.
